The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe Reservation is a 742-square-mile Indian reservation located in northwestern Nevada, 35 miles northeast of Reno in Washoe, Storey, and Lyon Counties. The reservation was created for the Northern Paiute in 1859 and confirmed by President Ulysses S. Grant on 23 March 1874. Of the Pyramid Lake Paiute's 2,288 enrolled members, 1,300 live on the reservation. In 2016, the tribe successfully sued the government to provide polling places on the reservation.
