Pyotr Kireyevsky (23 February 1808-6 November 1856) was a Russian philosopher and a leader of the Slavophile movement of 19th century Russia.
Biography[]
Pyotr Kireyevsky was born on 23 February 1808 in Dolbino, Kaluga Governorate, Russian Empire, the brother of Ivan Kireyevsky. Pyotr, like his brother, was a member of the Slavophile movement, and he collected folk songs and lyrics. Kireyevsky published his own volume of spiritual lyrics, and many of his works were published after his death in 1856.
