Pucara

Pucara is a mountainous department of Bolivia, with Todos Santos serving as its capital. Named for an Inca Pucara, the province borders the Altiplano to the east and has historically been an impoverished region in which zinc deposits, sheep farming, and potato cultures constituted the main industries. Todos Santos and Charamokho were renowned for their llamas, while Pilca was focused on zinc mining. After the Mexican Santa Blanca Cartel moved to Bolivia, its leader Rodrigo Carlos Pérez Morales was inspired by the Incan fortress to build an empire of his own, as well as to be laid to rest in a mausoleum built among Pucara's mountains. Several of Perez's lieutenants also built tombs in the region, but Pucara was liberated from cartel control during Operation Kingslayer in 2019.
