
Publius Petronius Turpilianus (32-68) was Governor of Roman Britain from 62 to 63, succeeding Gaius Suetonius Paulinus and preceding Marcus Trebellius Maximus.
Biography[]
Publius Petronius Turpilianus was born in Roman Empire in 32 AD, and he served as a consul in 61 AD before serving as Governor of Roman Britain from 62 to 63 AD. He sought to improve relations with the native Britons by slowing the process of the Roman conquest of Britain, and he left office in 63 and was given a triumph by Nero in 65. In 68, Galba had him summarily executed following his seizure of power.
