Providence location

Providence is the capital and most populous city of the US state of Rhode Island. Founded in 1636 by Roger Williams as a haven for religious dissidents, Providence grew to be the third-largest city in New England, and the city became one of the first American cities to industrialize, becoming noted for its machine tool, jewelry, and silverware industry. In 2010, Providence and its metro area had a population of 1,604,291 people, with 37.6% being white, 27.8% Hispanic, 16% African-American, and 6.4% Asian.
