The Progressive Labor Party (PLP) is a Marxist-Leninist political party in the United States that was founded in 1962 as the result of a split within the Communist Party USA. The party became vocal in its opposition to the Vietnam War during the 1960s and 1970s, and it was involved with the leftist Students for a Democratic Society student movement. During the 1970s, it became involved with anti-racism activism, but its support declined as the Vietnam conflict drew to a close.
