Priti Patel

Priti Patel (born 29 March 1972) was the Conservative Party MP for Witham from 6 May 2010.

Biography[]

Priti Patel was born in Islington, London, England on 29 March 1972, and she idolized Margaret Thatcher as a young girl. She worked with the Conservative Party after graduating from university, and she worked in media relations in London and South East England from 1997. Her first run for Parliament in 2005 was unsuccessful, but, in 2010, she was elected as MP for the newly-created constituency of Witham. She supported Brexit in 2015, and she went on to serve as Minister of State for Employment from 2015 to 2016, Secretary of State for International Development from 2016 to 2017, and Home Secretary from 2019.
