Princess Pei (born 254) was the consort of Sima Yue, who was Prince of Donghai from 291 to 311.
Biography[]
Pei was born in 254, and she was said to be an insightful survivalist. She married Sima Yue, the Prince of Donghai, and she played a major role in his policy-making.
For instance, in 307, she advised him to make Prince of Langye Sima Rui the commander of Yang Province, which would later put him in a position to seize the throne and become the first Emperor of Eastern Jin.
In 311, after Sima Yue's death, Liu Cong attacked Luoyang, and Princess Pei was briefly enslaved before escaping to Jianye, and Sima Rui posthumously honored her and her husband for their contribution to his takeover of the empire.
