Prince Arslan Shah of Seljuk Sultanate

Prince Arslan Shah of Seljuk Sultanate (1056-) was a son of Alp Arslan and a prince of the Seljuk Empire.

Biography[]

Arslan Shah was born in 1056, the son of Alp Arslan by an unknown wife. He was a Sunni Muslim Turk, and he was the brother of Sultan Malik Shah. Arslan Shah served his brother as a part-time military commander, leading his army on campaigns against rebels across the western fringes of the empire as well as the Byzantine Empire, the sworn enemies of Islam. Soft living and flagrant debauchery turned Arslan Shah into a living offense to all righteous Muslims.
