Portuguese

The Portuguese are a Latin European people indigenous to Portugal. The Portuguese people's heritage includes the pre-Celts, the Celts (Celtiberians, Lusitanians, Gallaecians, and Celtici), Romans, Greeks, Scandinavians, and migratory Germanic tribes like the Vandals, Visigoths, and Suebi. The Portuguese share a common culture and speak Portuguese as their primary language, while Catholicism is the main religion of the Portuguese people. Due to Portugal's colonization of Asia, Africa, and the Americas, a large Portuguese diaspora exists worldwide. The world population of Portuguese people is over 125,000,000, with 10,374,822 living in Portugal, 85,000,000 in Brazil, 1,471,549 in the United States, 1,300,000 in Venezuela, 1,243,419 in France, 429,850 in Canada, and hundreds of thousands elsewhere.
