Pope Michael II of Alexandria

Pope Michael II of Alexandria (790-851) was the Coptic Pope of Alexandria from 20 November 849 to 17 April 851, succeeding Joseph and preceding Cosmas II.

Biography[]

Michael was born in Egypt in 790, and he succeeded Pope Joseph of Alexandria as Coptic pope in 849. He died in 851 after just two years of serving as pope.
