
Pope Honorius II (9 February 1060-13 February 1130), born Lamberto Scannabecchi, was Pope from 1124 to 1130, succeeding Pope Callixtus II and preceding Pope Innocent II.
Biography[]
Lamberto Scannabecchi was born on 9 February 1060 and was made a cardinal in 1099 by Pope Urban II due to his intellect (although he was from humble origins). He was the first pope to confirm the election of the Holy Roman Empire's kaiser, and in 1128 he was a patron of the Templar Order.
