Pope Alexius (fl. 1166-1171), originally Duran the Corrupt, was the Pope of the Papal States from 1166 until 1171. Originally a bishop from the Kingdom of Castile, Alexius (at the time Duran) was a pious priest who was known for being an enemy of Heretics. Alexius was elected through 5 Castilian, 2 Sicilian, 1 French, 1 English, and 1 Papal votes as pope in 1166.
