Polyperchon of Croton (died 379 BC) was the Archon of Croton from c. 400 BC to 379 BC. Polyperchon oversaw the conquest of the Bruttii to the north and fought an indecisive war against the rival Greeks of Rhegion to the south from 399 to 398 BC, and he agreed to a non-aggression pact with Syracuse in a bid to maintain the peace in southern Italy. However, in 381 BC, Dionysius I of Syracuse's invasion of Calabria and his conquest of Rhegion (Reggio Calabria) led to Polyperchon cancelling his non-aggression pact with Dionysius, precipitating a war with the invaders. From 380 to 379 BC, Syracusan armies overran Croton and its allied cities, and Polyperchon was slain at the Battle of Psicro before his army could march south to reclaim Croton.
