Polly Pagliacci was born in New York City, New York, and she became a famous madame during the 1940s. She opened a glamorous nightclub with the help of the Barzini crime family, opening Madame Polly's in Midtown Manhattan; racket boss Candice DeNunzio opened a racket on the second floor. In August 1945, Pagliacci was forced to pay tribute to the Corleone crime family.
