
Podarces (died 1183 BC) was King of Thessaly at the time of the Trojan War.
Biography[]
Podarces was a son of Iphiclus and Diomedeia and the brother of Protesilaus, and both he and his brother were unsuccessful suitors for Helen, thus binding them to defend her chosen husband Menelaus under the Oath of Tyndareus. Protesilaus was killed by Hector during the Trojan War, while Podarces was killed by Penthesilea.
