Placus Flavius (336-372) was the Governor of Eburacum under the Western Roman Empire and a member of the House of Flavii.
Biography[]
Flavius was appointed as the Governor of Eburacum (York) in northern England in the Roman province of Britannia, and although he was extremely loyal to the Western Roman Empire (he was a member of the House of Flavii), he was a man with no command skills. In winter 371 AD, he was besieged by Etelgis of the Saxons in Eburacum, and died in the assault on the city in 372.
