Pierre-Charles Lochet

Pierre-Charles Lochet (24 February 1767-7 February 1807) was a Brigadier-General of the French Army during the Napoleonic Wars.

Biography[]

Pierre-Charles Lochet was born in Chalons-en-Champagne on 24 February 1767, and in 1784 he enlisted in the Queen's Regiment of the Royal French Army. However, in 1792 he joined the French Revolutionary Army and in 1799-1800 he fought with the Army of the Danube during the War of the Second Coalition. In 1805 he led a brigade at the Battle of Austerlitz and in 1806 he fought at the Battle of Jena-Auerstadt in 1806.

In 1807 Pierre-Charles Lochet was killed by a bullet in the head in the Battle of Eylau, one of the bloodiest battles of the War of the Fourth Coalition.
