Pictland was a Celtic kingdom in northern and eastern Scotland which existed from 210 to 848 AD, with Scone serving as its capital. Pictland was founded by Argentocoxos of Pictland, the king of the Picts, and, during the late 4th century AD, Telurg I of Pictland converted to Catholicism from paganism. In 848 AD, Kenneth MacAlpin united the rival Celtic kingdoms into the Kingdom of Scotland.
