Phillip Nevins (born 1939) was an American attorney working in New York City in 1990. He represented renowned cardiologist Dr. Edward Auster in a manslaughter case regarding the death of Suzanne Morton. Nevins' defense technique revolved around Auster's education and career longevity, using this to dismiss Dr. Ekballa Raza's testimony and to appeal to the jury. However, after Auster drank six bourbons at a nearby pub, Executive ADA Benjamin Stone performed a sobriety test in the court to Nevins' chagrin, in which Auster failed on the first command and was found guilty of second-degree manslaughter by the jury.
