Philippos of Agyrion

Philippos of Agyrion (died 398 BC) was a Sicel general in the service of Agyrion during the early 4th century BC. In 299 BC, he was recruited to lead an army yet to be assembled at Agyrion (Agira), but he was forced to take flight when the armies of Syracuse captured the city in 398 BC. He was nearly killed in a skirmish with his Syracusan pursuers as he fled north to Kephaloidion (Cefalu), and he was ultimately slain at the Siege of Kephaloidion that same year.
