
Philip Rootes Thompson (26 March 1766 – 27 July 1837) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-VA 18) from 4 March 1801 to 3 March 1803 (succeeding John Nicholas and preceding Peterson Goodwyn) and from VA-9 from 4 March 1803 to 3 March 1807 (succeeding William Branch Giles and preceding John Love).
Biography[]
Philip Rootes Thompson was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 1766, and he worked as a lawyer in Fairfax before serving in the House of Delegates from 1793 to 1797 and in the US House of Representatives from 1801 to 1807. He died in Kanawha County, West Virginia in 1837.
