Phan Quang Tue

Phan Quang Tue (25 April 1942-) was a Vietnamese-American politician who served as a Judge on the San Francisco Immigration Court from 1995 to 31 December 2012.

Biography[]

Phan Quang Tue was born in Tam Ky, French Indochina on 25 April 1942, the son of a Vietnamese politician, and he grew up in South Vietnam during Ngo Dinh Diem's dictatorship. He saw Diem as an autocrat who wasted the South's opportunity to be an open democracy with a free press and free expression, but he also hated the communist north. He fled to the United States in 1975 at the end of the Vietnam War, and he went on to serve as an Immigration & Naturalization Service trial attorney from 1988 to 1993, as an administrative law judge from 1993 to 1995, and as a Republican judge on the San Francisco Immigration Court from 1995 to 31 December 2012. In 2014, he lost a bid for the US House of Representatives.
