Phaethon Petracca (1468 - 1511) was a deacon who lived in Constantinople under the rule of the Ottoman Empire. He was one of the remaining leaders of the city's Greek Orthodox Christian community.

Petracca's death
Phaethon Petracca was a Greek Phanariot, a wealthy Greek Orthodox Christian who became a deacon. Petracca's links to the Eastern Orthodox Church led him to become a powerful pillar of the Greek, Romanian, Bulgarian, Varangian, and Hungarian Christian community of the Ottoman Empire's capital of Constantinople (also known as Konstantiniyye or Istanbul). Petracca became a member of the Templar Order, seeking to take control of Constantinople and reincarnate the Byzantine Empire.

Phaethon Petracca was targeted by the Assassin Order's guild in the city, led by Yusuf Tazim, because of his power and influence that was managed by his Templar brethren. Petracca was assassinated in the streets of Constantinople by an Assassin sentinel, who used a short sword to kill him as he held his left arm back.
