The Petit-Pont-Cardinal-Lustiger is a bridge over the Seine which connects the Île de la Cité and the 5th arrondissement of Paris, France. As the bridge crossed the small arm of the Seine, as opposed to the Grand Pont (Pont au Change), the bridge was named the Petit-Pont ("little bridge"). The current bridge was built in 1853, but it was once the site of a Roman bridge which was destroyed by Robert I of Meulan in 1111; it was also the site of a bridge from 1185 to 1196 (and five more between 1200 to 1375, each destroyed by a flood), from 1394 to 1406 (built with confiscated Jewish money), from 1409 to 1718, and from 1719 to 1850. The current bridge was later renamed in honor of Jean-Marie Lustiger, Archbishop of Paris from 1981 to 2005.
