Peter W. Strader

Peter Wilson Strader (6 November 1818-25 February 1881) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-OH 1) from 4 March 1869 to 3 March 1871, succeeding Benjamin Eggleston and preceding Aaron F. Perry.

Biography[]

Peter Wilson Strader was born in Shawnee, New Jersey in 1818, and his family settled in Lebanon, Ohio in 1819. He worked in printing before moving to Cincinnati in 1835, and he worked as a clerk and engineer from 1835 to 1848, as a railroad general ticket agent, and served in the US House of Representatives from 1869 to 1871. He moved to Ashtabula in 1876 and died in 1881.
