Perry Cline (5 January 1849-19 March 1891) was the Sheriff of Pike County, Kentucky. Born in Mingo County, West Virginia in 1849, the cousin of Randolph McCoy, he became a prominent lawyer in Pikeville. In 1865, he lost a lawsuit against Devil Anse Hatfield over the deed to thousands of acres of timber-rich land as the Hatfield-McCoy feud began to brew, and he later used his considerable political influence to support his kin against the Hatfields. Cline put out bounties on several prominent members of the Hatfield family, enlisting the support of guns-for-hire like Frank Phillips. He died in 1891.
