Pephka

Pephka is the arid eastern region of the Greek island of Crete. During Ancient Greece, Pephka was a dry and hot region marked by rocks, cacti, low brush, orange-tinted hills, cracking mountains, and dusty ground; the area was used as a base by pirates, smugglers, con artists, and other criminals. The town of Lato functioned as a commercial shrine to the mythical Minotaur, attracting tourism which fueled its economy. Pephka was also home to the secretive Pephka Arena, where mercenaries battled for survival in gladiatorial combat.
