The People's Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan (PIUPA) is a conservative and Shia Islamic political party in Afghanistan that was founded by Mohammed Mohaqiq in 2004. The party was formed after a split within the Hezbe Wahdat party, and the party supported Hazara nationalism. Mohaqiq campaigned on pledging to fight for the people's interests, and the party opposed the 2009 Personal Status Law, which would allow for men to refuse food or water to his wife should she refuse to have sex with him.
