The People's Alliance (AP) was a conservative political party in Spain that existed from 1976 to 1989. The party was founded as a federation of political associations, with six of its seven founders holding cabinet positions under Francisco Franco's fascist government. From 1976 to 1979, the party supported neo-Francoist views, but the party's reactionary faction would split off to join the far-right parties as the party wrote a more right-wing draft constitution. During the 1980s, the party sat in opposition to the Union of the Democratic Center of Spain and the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, and it was refounded as the People's Party of Spain in 1989.
