
Pedro Luis Borgia Lanzol (1472-1511) was a Cardinal of the Catholic Church and a member of the House of Borgia.
Biography[]
Pedro Luis Borgia Lanzol was born in Valencia, Aragon in 1472, the great-nephew of Pope Alexander VI. He served the Knights Hospitaller, and he beceame Prior of the Hospitallers in Santa Eufemia. On 20 March 1500, the Pope made him Cardinal Deacon in pectore, and he was also made Archbishop of Valencia. During his tenure as a Cardinal, he served as Governor of Spoleto, Governor of Bagnoregio, Abbot of Valdigna, and Abbot of San Simpliciano. On 20 December 1503, he fled to Naples after Pope Julius II took power in Rome, and he died after a fall from his horse in 1511 while returning to Rome after Julius' death.
