Biography[]

Pedro Luis Borgia was the son of Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia and the half-brother of Cesare Borgia, Joffre Borgia, Juan Borgia the Younger, and Lucrezia Borgia. He was married to Maria Enriquez de Luna, a relative of King Ferdinand II of Aragon, and he fought under King Ferdinand during the Granada War. On 18 May 1485, he became a Grandee of Spain after the Battle of Ronda, and King Ferdinand made him Duke of Gandia, the ancestral lands of the House of Borgia. In 1491, he was killed by assassins disguised as Muslims, with his half-brother Juan being responsible for his death; he inherited both the Duchy of Gandia and Pedro Luis' widow, Maria Enriquez.
