
Pedro Pablo Dartnell Encina (24 December 1873-26 September 1944) was President of Chile from 23 to 27 January 1925, succeeding Luis Altamirano and preceding Emilio Bello Codesido.
Biography[]
Pedro Dartnell was born in Linares, Chile on 24 December 1873, and he served in the Chilean Civil War of 1891 and was educated at military schools in Europe. He became General Director of the Air Force in 1919, and, in 1924, he became Army Inspector General. In January 1925, he pushed Luis Altamirano out of power and served as head of the Chilean military junta for four days before making Emilio Bello Codesido the new President. He died in 1944.
