Pavel Efimovich Dybenko (16 February 1889-29 July 1938) was a Bolshevik revolutionary and a general of the Soviet Red Army during the Russian Civil War.

Pavel Efimovich Dybenko was born on 16 February 1889 in Lyudkovo, Chernigov Governorate, Russian Empire (present-day Novozybkov, Bryansk Oblast, Russia), and he became active with the Bolsheviks in 1907. Dybenko worked as a port laborer in Riga before serving in the Imperial Russian Navy during World War I, and he served in the Red Army during the Russian Civil War. He commanded a cavalry division in the Caucasus during the 1920s, and he became commander of the Volga Military District in 1933. From 1936 to 1937, he led the purges in the Leningrad Military District during the Great Purge, only to be removed from command due to Joseph Stalin no longer trusting him. Dybenko was executed on 29 July 1938.
