Pauline Hanson's One Nation is a right-wing populist and nationalist political party in Australia that was founded by former Liberal Party of Australia politician Pauline Hanson on 11 April 1997. The party had a strongly nationalist and conservative platform, with Hanson claiming that she did not want other cultures to overly influence Australia. The party opposed immigration, multiculturalism, and Islam, and it favored protectionism over free trade. The One Nation party held a few local parliament and legislative council seats, but it lacked representation in the House of Representatives, while it held just 3/76 Senate seats in 2017.
