Paul Haakonsson (1094-1137) was Jarl of Orkneyar from 1123 to 1137, succeeding Haakon Paulsson and preceding Harald Maddadsson.
Biography[]
Paul Haakonsson was born on Orkney in 1094, a son of Haakon Paulsson and the half-brother of Harald Haakonsson. Paul and his half-brother Harald Haakonsson co-ruled Orkneyar following their father's abdication in 1123, but Harald's mother attempted to poison Paul with a poisoned shirt; this shirt instead killed Harald. Harald's mother ultimately succeeded in forcing Paul to abdicate in 1137 before killing him.
