Paul-Henri Nargeolet

Paul-Henri Nargeolet (2 March 1946-18 June 2023) was a French deep sea explorer and retired French Navy commander. Born in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Haute-Savoie, he served in the French Navy from 1964 to 1986 and specialized in mine clearing, diving, and deep underwater intervention. After leaving the Navy, he piloted dives to the wreckage of the RMS Titanic and was nicknamed "Mr. Titanic" for becoming an expert on the subject. In 2023, he was among the five passengers of the submersible Titan to die when the Titan imploded during its dive into the Atlantic Ocean on a trip to explore the Titanic's wreckage.
