Biography[]
Patrick Ainslee was born in 1618 in Berkshire, England, and he was from an aristocratic family. In the mid-17th century, he was sent to govern the island of Jamaica on behalf of King Charles II of England, and he sought to eradicate piracy in the region. However, he was also corrupt and sought to enrich himself, and in 1668 he decided to make a partnership with pirate Morgan Adams; he would either make a partnership with her in exchange for half of her profits, capture her and hang her, or kill her in battle. Ainslee sent the chronicler John Reed to follow the pirates and track them down while pretending to write about them, and Reed sent a carrier pigeon to Ainslee with their location. Ainslee later formed an alliance with Morgan's uncle Dawg Brown, and they agreed to split Morgan Adams' wealth between them after tracking her down to Cutthroat Island and capturing her. However, Adams and her crew escaped from the brig and battled Ainslee's ship, and he was killed by cannon fire along with Reed and the English troops.
