
Park Ridge is a city in Cook County, Illinois and a suburb of Chicago. The land was ceded to the United States by the Potawatomi in 1833, and New Englander and New Yorker settlers soon arrived to populate the area. In 1854, a brickworks was established in the area. By 1960, Park Ridge had a population of 32,625 people, with only 5 of them being African-Americans and 31 others being non-whites. By 2018, the population had risen to 37,240.
