The Paraguayan Communist Party (PCP) is a communist political party in Paraguay that was founded in 1928. The party was suppressed by the military dictatorships that ruled the country, and the party split into pro-China and pro-Soviet factions in 1967. After the downfall of the dictator Alfredo Stroessner in 1989, the PCP re-emerged as a legal political party, and it joined the Frente Guasu political coalition.
