The Panau Space Center raid occurred in 2010 when the ultranationalist Ular Boys destroyed the Panauan government's satellite fleet before it could be launched into space to spread Pandak Panay's propaganda.
The Panau Space Center at Cape Carnival was modeled after NASA's spaceport at the similarly named Cape Canaveral in Florida, and it reflected the pro-Western, modernizing legacy of the late Panauan leader Papa Panay. During Panau's civil war, Sri Irawan sent the mercenary Rico Rodriguez to destroy the space center's three satellites before they could be launched into orbit. Rodriguez entered the base on foot and wrought havoc around the massive facility, using C4 explosives to destroy two of the launch pads and using a hijacked UH-10 Chippewa light attack helicopter to destroy the third. Panay responded by launching a fourth satellite from a secret launch pad, but Rodriguez stole an Si-47 Leopard jet fighter from the base and used it to shoot down the fourth satellite mid-launch, wiping out Panau's space program.
