Palisades casino shootout

The Palisades casino shootout occurred in the spring of 2008 when Niko Bellic single-handedly wiped out the bulk of the Pegorino crime family in a shootout at an abandoned casino in The Palisades, New Jersey. Bellic, who survived a drive-by shooting at the wedding of his cousin, Roman Bellic, sought vengeance for the murder of his friend Kate McReary in the shooting, and Roman Bellic and Little Jacob located Jimmy Pegorino's lieutenants Raphael Indovina and Sal Scotto at a Jersey City apartment. Bellic and his friends pursued them to the casino in the Palisades, and Bellic warned his cousin and Little Jacob to leave in order for them to avoid being injured in the shootout. Bellic killed dozens of mobsters in the shootout, virtually eliminating the family; he chased Pegorino down to Liberty Island, where he cornered him and killed him.
