Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is a centrist political party in Pakistan which was founded on 25 April 1996 by former international cricket captain Imran Khan. The party aimed to create a welfare state in which the state was responsible for education, health, and employment, promoted freedom of thought, supported the dismantling of religious discrimination in the country, advocated egalitarian Islamic democracy, and opposed the corrupt and family-dominated political status quo. In 2018, the PTI became the largest party in the National Assembly and formed the new government, and its membership of over 10 millino at home and abroad made it the largest Pakistani party by membership.
