The Pakistan Rangers is a collective term for the Punjab Rangers and Sindh Rangers paramilitary groups of Pakistan's military, with a combined total strength of 100,000 active troops. The Rangers were managed by the Minister of the Interior, and while they were led by the Pakistan Army, they were independent from it. The Rangers were founded in October 1958 to replace the border police of Sindh and Punjab, and they have taken part in several wars and peacekeeping missions. 215 of them were deployed to join the UN peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, 356 were sent to Haiti, 165 in Cote d'Ivoire, 107 in East Timor, and 101 in Sudan, a total of 944 peacekeepers.
