The Pakistan Muslim League (Q) is a centrist political party in Pakistan that was founded on 20 June 2002 as a splintergroup of the Pakistan Muslim League (N). The PML(Q) was founded by PML(N) dissidents who supported Pervez Musharraf's 1999 military coup against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and the party entered the government during Musharraf's military regime. The party adopted radical centrist views, with Musharraf introducing social liberal policies while also pursuing policies of economic liberalism and banning trade unions. The PML(Q) was very successful during the early 2000s, winning 126 Parliament seats in 2002, but the PML(Q) was reduced to a mere 50 seats after the 2008 elections, and it would lose support as the PML(N) returned to power. In 2017, the PML(Q) held a mere 4/104 Senate seats, 2/342 National Assembly seats, 8/371 Punjab Assembly Seats, 5/65 Balochistan Assembly seats, and 3/33 Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly seats.
