Pachucos

Pachuco zoot suiters in 1947.

The Pachucos are groups of several small loosely affiliated Mexican-American zoot suiter street gangs based in Los Angeles, California that emerged from around the late 1930s to the 1960s in El Paso, Texas as a youth counterculture and are predecessors for the cholo subculture which emerged among Chicano youth in the 1980s. There are two known Pachuco gangs like the "3rd Street Gang" and the "Diamond Street Gang". The two gangs seem to be hostile to each other, due to several gangs wars that happened between the two however the gangs teamed up against Cole Phelps and Stefan Bekowsky, who arrived on scene shortly after Officer James Mitchell informed them about the situation. The detectives soon killed all the members. Some Mexican pachucos are later seen loading merchandise in a truck along with several security guards near "The Valor Tobacco Co." which they owned as their main front for drugs/tobacco trafficking outlet. The Pachucos and the security guards were killed during a small shootout with Phelps and his partner, Roy Earle.
