The PT-76 is a Soviet light tank that was introduced on 6 August 1951. The tank was the standard reconnaissance tank of the Eastern Bloc during the Cold War, and around 3,000 PT-76 tanks were built, seeing service in the USSR, India, Ba'athist Iraq, Syria, North Korea, and North Vietnam during wars such as the Indo-Pakistani wars, the Iran-Iraq War, the Lebanese Civil War, and the Vietnam War.
