The Jobuilt P-996 LAZER is a multi-role fighter jet developed by Jobuilt, known for its development of heavy-duty trucks as well as aeroplanes.
History[]
The Jobuilt P-996 LAZER was put into limited service of the US Air Force in 2013, and is equipped with twin nose cannons in addition to missile launchers on both wings. It only requires one pilot, and is extremely fast due to its purpose of being a fighter aboard an aircraft carrier. The P-996 is meant for experienced pilots due to its extremely high speed as well as due to its fragility. Later in the jet's lifespan, the P-996 was seen in the hands of Mexican drug lord Martin Madrazo, American contractor and PMC Merryweather Security,
The jets were first deployed at Fort Zancudo in Blaine County in southern California and the USS Luxington off the coast of Los Angeles. In October 2013, they shot down a Merryweather Mesa cargo plane over the Alamo Sea, with the plane falling into the waters north of Slab City. P-996s obtained by Madrazo were used by hired associates to destroy rival drug planes flying into Blaine County in 2013, as well as conspiracy theorist and meth trafficker Ron Jakowski hiring criminals to destroy three P-996s at Fort Zancudo in order to not be chased when stealing a Chinook the same year. P-226s were scrambled in order to destroy a Jobuilt Velum 5-Seater transporting the recently freed Maxim Rashkovsky. The USS Luxington were also scrambled multiple jets to chase down thieves who had infiltrated the carrier and stolen a Harrier II.
In 2017, Merryweather jets were deployed to destroy a CIA-affiliated crew's Mobile Operations Center, transported by a custom Jobuilt Hauler. More Merryweather jets were destroyed later that year by an unidentified criminal in a World War II-era P-51 Mustang, surprisingly enough. They were also used as escort for Merryweather cargo planes, typically destroyed by enterprising criminals in old MiG-15s.
