Osiris

Osiris was the god of the dead in Egyptian mythology. He was the son of the sun god Ra and the sky god Nut, and he was the brother-husband of Isis, father of Horus, and the brother and archnemesis of Set.

History[]

Osiris was killed by his brother Set in 1183 BC and his pieces scattered across the sands of Egypt by Set's followers Gargarensis, Kemsyt, and Kamos, who sought to use Set to help them in their quest to release the Titans from Tartarus for Poseidon; Gargarensis sought immortality from Poseidon. Osiris' pieces were held in carts as far south as Safaga on the Red Sea coast of Egypt and as far north as Nuseirat on the coast of Palestine. However, the priest Setna and his allies Arkantos, Ajax, Chiron, and Amanra recovered the pieces after several battles with Gargarensis and his forces, and they returned to the city of Abydos with the three carts. They resurrected the god at the Osiris Pyramid, and Osiris single-handedly destroyed Gargarensis' army with his magic.
