Osbeorn of Ledeborg

Osbeorn of Ledeborg (826-880) was the Danish king of Ledeborg in central England from 874 to 880, preceding Guttron. Osbeorn fought against King Alfred the Great of Wessex during his conquest of the Midlands from 879 to 880, briefly making peace with Wessex before Alfred preemptively attacked his army near Cambridge in the winter of 880. In the ensuing Battle of Cambridge, Osbeorn was surrounded by Anglo-Saxon soldiers and cut down. His body was lost among a heap of Danish corpses, having fallen underneath the body of one of his bodyguards when he died.
